When I posted the first sketch that went on to become "Hazey", bLa expressed some hope that it was going to feature Juno. Even though I already had a subject in mind, the inevitability of a Juno pawjob pic did descend on me. And on a nude beach it's kind of a match made in heaven, so here you go.
This started as a super loose conceptual sketch to get a general flow and layout down. I polished this up for a couple little iterations and refined it even more so it could stand as the linework in the finished piece. Again I went with a nice, warm color palette. At first I was worried a yellow blanket would blend everything together too much, but I think it was the perfect choice to hammer home the bright summer feel.
Truth be told, all of these sketches were mirrored before I realized I want the flower in Juno's hair to be on her right side, as it always is. It's a small detail, but Hawaiian custom suggests this is how a single person should wear it -- and I do love customs, so it's just the same in Juno's culture.
Now who's she on this date with anyway...
